If you are no longer in Tucson, how often do you get back here?
Well, unlike a lot of people, I've pretty much stayed around Tucson. After graduation I attended Pima College just to get the student deferment. I've spent most of my working life in the auto parts industry, working at several auto parts stores around Tucson. The longest stretch was at Merle's Automotive where I was in the purchasing dept. for a number of years. I finally left Merle's to pursue a job as a long haul truck driver with a large national company. It was dificult being away from home 3 weeks at a time with my wife and daughter always wanting to know when I would be home so I decided to see if I could find something local. I wound up working as a bus driver in the Vail School District. They couldn't offer me full time work so I started working part time at Sebra, the company my wife worked for, after my bus runs. After working part time at both jobs, Sebra offered me a job working full time. I had been there just over 6 years when the economic down turn started in 2008. Sebra sold the division that made up the bulk of my work. I had been working part time for the AZ Shuttle for about a year so after being laid off I picked up more hours/runs at the Shuttle where I have been ever since.
This is an update sinceI first wrote this some months back. I left the AZ Shuttle at the end of November to take a position with St. Mary's Hospital.
