If you are no longer in Tucson, how often do you get back here?
Richard and I left Tucson in 1977 to live in Chicago while he finished his PhD in Philosophy. We then moved to Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and finally came to West Virginia in 1989. We now live in Fieldcrest Hall, a dorm at West Virginia University where we are RFL's (dorm mentors) Richard is a Philosophy professer and I am a Pharmacy Tech at Krogers. I stayed home for quite a while with our 4 children but now our youngest is turning 18 and is an exchange student in Germany this year. I remember the exchange students at Sahuaro (Timo) and wished I could have done that. Now my Rachel is! One of my favorite things that I have ever done is to attend the inauguration on the Mall in DC when Obama was sworn in. I can imagine how excited Mr. Wook would be to see what has happened in our lifetime. Do you remember discussing the riots in Watts in American Problems class? I also love "Glee". I remember Mr. Justice and Mr. Iverson trying to put on "Showstoppers" and "Up with People" I remember the chills when Tom Ripley sang "Old Man River" (still have the vinyl) and singing "What Color is God's Skin?" in our UWP show. We have a whole group of kids in our dorm that like to sing disney songs and dance the routines. Choir follows you forever. Sometime look at the difference between the boys sports pages in our yearbooks and the girls pages. Thank goodness for title 9! I was in Folklanders a folkdance group at Uof A when it passed and my girls have all been able to do what they have wanted in sports since that time. My daughter ran in the Arizona Ironman and finished. When we were in school, girls couldn't run cross-country! I remember, "the age of Aquarias" "today is the first day of the rest of your life" and Elaine Hawkins singing at Prom. We've all come a long way baby!
