Tim DeHaven

Tim DeHaven

Jack Hume texted me on Sunday and I spoke with his wife, LaVita, tonight.  I am so,so sorry to report that our classmate, Tim DeHaven, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 after a battle with cancer. Lavita lives in Richmond, TX and has the support of her children and their families and friends.

Tim was good friends wtih my family and we have many fond memories.  He was such a good man.

I searched for an obituary, but couldn't find one.  If anyone else is able to find one, please let me know and I will put the link on this page.   (I really, really hate this part of my "job.")

Rest is Peace dear friend.

I have good memories of Tim from Wrightstown as well.  He was part of our formative landscape.  I remember a beautiful seasoned leather baseball mit he brought from home and took outside at recess to throw with the rest of them.  I was pleased to read his obituary of a happy loving balanced life.   Warm wishes to his family.    73 seems so soon this day and age.   Sharon Graham Stacy

Timothy William DeHaven

February 17, 1952 – March 15, 2025

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Timothy William DeHaven, who left this world at the age of 73. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Tim was a man of integrity, wisdom, and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

Tim was born on February 17, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Elizabeth and Thomas DeHaven. He was a proud son of Detroit, he carried his love for the city throughout his life, passionately supporting Detroit’s sports teams, including the Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings.

A man of great intellect and ambition, Tim earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona. Throughout his 40-year career in the oil and gas industry, Tim managed projects across the globe, including in Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Trinidad, and Brazil. As the Owner and CEO of DHN Investors, he demonstrated vision, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.

Tim’s true happiness, however, was found in his family. He shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, LaVita DeHaven. He was a devoted father to Catherine Kimpel and her daughter Abigail, and to Erik DeHaven and his wife Alexandra, along with their children Wren and Walker. He was also a cherished brother to Thomas DeHaven Jr., Diane Eddy, and Julie Rule.

A man who appreciated life’s simple joys, Tim loved sitting on the beach with LaVita, a gin and tonic in hand, cheering on his son from the sidelines as both a player and a coach, and most of all, being a grandpa to his adored grandchildren. His unwavering support, warmth, and wisdom will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Tim’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
