Gaylene "Gay" Beth Burton

December 3, 1951 - August 24, 2024

Mrs. Gaylene "Gay" Beth Burton, 72, of Newnan, GA, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. She was born in Riverton, Wyoming to the late Milton James Carlson and Euletta Cocharn Carlson. 

Gay grew up in Littleton, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona and was a 1970 graduate of Sahuaro High School.  She went on to attend business school, relocated to Butte, Montana, and met her future husband, Richard Burton. Gay and Richard would move on to Salt Lake City, Utah, before ultimately settling in Newnan, GA for the next 35 years. Gay enjoyed a career as a dental assistant, orthodontics office manager, and medical billing which spanned over 50 years. 

Survivors include husband, Richard W. Burton of Newnan, GA; son Chad (Tamara) J. Burton of Sandy Springs, GA; daughter, Tina (Darrell) L. Lambert of Paradise, TX; sisters, Joy (Allen) Exner of Laurel, MD and Sherie Carlson of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Cheyenne (Austin) Estep of Wisconsin, Gary Lambert, Lauren Lambert, an Rebecca Lambert of Texas; great-grandchild Ezra Estep; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
