to the whole reunion crew Posted Tuesday, October 26, 2010 09:47 AM Just wanted to give a SHOUT OUT to the 40th reunion committee & to their gorgeous leader ~ Carol. We can't thank you enough for getting us back together in Tucson to reminisce & catch up with each other's lives. We have been given a chance to reconnect ~ thanks to all of you amazing committee members ~ and we sincerely appreciate the gift! Carl & I are still flying high from the memories of the weekend. We have been reflecting on every special person that showed up and the ones that we missed seeing. Our yearbooks have brought us lots of laughter, just like Neil promised. Thanks to Susan & Betsy for their heartfelt poems. And the night would not have been complete without Eric & Dave's Ham Bone performance ~ just for old times' sake. Thank you for hiring a professional photographer who captured us on film all night. Plus another shout out to Chip & Peter for taking tons of candid shots throughout the two nights. Both nights were magical. Tucson welcomed us home with breathtaking sunsets & an amazing harvest moon over the Rincons. Mucho thanks again ~ Committee ~ for arranging that part, too! I would count it as a HUGE success & can't wait for the 60th Birthday party bash! And I personally think you all are wonderful, Billie

RE: to the whole reunion crew Posted Wednesday, October 27, 2010 06:35 PM I agree wholeheartedly with Billie. It's so nice that she took the time to write such a good message to the reunion committee. The time, effort and consideration they gave of themselves to design such a great reunion was well worth their effort! Their creativity and thoughtfulness resulted in a wonderful celebration for all of us. In addition, the deceased classmates and their families would be so pleased that they were not forgotten at this special event. The "memorial table" that was set with framed photos of each passed alumni was done in such good taste. Also, the large screen slide show of passed classmates shown prior to dinner was respectful and sincere. Bless those who were involved with this project. Echoing Billie, thank you for all your hard work, committee members! Love and appreciation, Jeannine Parmentier McLean |

RE: to the whole reunion crew Posted Sunday, October 31, 2010 10:23 PM Hello classmates, I only attended Sahuaro for my last year in High School. I came to Tucson in the summer of 69 to work for my uncle. He was the Maintenance Manager for the UP WITH PEOPLE Organization which repaired the buses and vehicles. At the end of the summer he asked if I would like to stay and go to school here while working for him on the weekends. Well sure I did, to get away from my drug/Boozing brothers in California why not. Well my first month I did not know anybody except my cousin whose house I was staying at. As a SHS band member I met my friend Bill "Hank" Moeller. We became friends and he soon introduced me to Colleen Busboom from the next class 1971. The point of all of this is that I really didn’t feel like I fit in this class until the 30 year reunion where I met people like Dave Thompson, Neil Katz, Pete Manns and others. This year by joining the reunion committee not only have I met new friends but actually feel like I have contributed to our class. A lot of great people came out of this class, just wish I knew them in the beginning.... Herchel "CHIP" Green PS... I found my BIG RED S... 11-07-10 |

RE: to the whole reunion crew Posted Wednesday, November 3, 2010 10:58 AM I too would like to thank the committee for providing us with wonderful memories. Hard to believe 40 years have really passed since we walked the halls of Sahuaro High School. One of the amazing parts to me was that when we were all together I truely felt those years fade away. When I looked in to each of your faces and shared time with you, I saw you as I saw you many years ago ... you were all just you, my wonderful high school friends! I guess old is relevant, as Brenda and Dave kept pointing out to me all weekend. LOL I had not been back to Tucson since our 20th and before that only once my freshman year in college, so this was a very special trip for me. I think I discoverd a little more about who I was when I was a child, to look at those pictures, even though we thought we were grown and we were making grown up decisions, we were definantely children. I have no doubt I made many mistakes and hurt many feelings and I apoligize now as an adult, but I think I am a much kinder adult and would love to spend more time with my high school friends now that we have grown up. Sahuaro put out some pretty special people....It also helped me know a little more about who I am today. So again thanks to all of you for a great, memorable weekend. I tell my own children and my gymnastics kids that life is all about making memories and we made some great ones!!! Thanks and May God Bless You All! If you are ever in the DFW area give me a call. I always have room for company. Texas is a great place to live and to visit...
