Bruce Horn

Bruce Horn passed on the 27th of November, 2015.  He went the way he wanted, peacefully in his sleep. I was with him when he passed; he was not alone.

This is posted by David Horn, his brother, class of '71.

*Thank you David, for sharing this with us.

Bruce was my friend. He lived in places all over the world during his working career. Southern Chile, Singapore, Indonesia, Syria. Holland and other countries I can't think of all the right now. Some of those locations were extremely remote in deep jungle. I think his last foreign job was in Cadiz, Spain. I came in contact with him and his wife Lani a few years ago while they were living in Lakeland, Florida. They met and married while he was working in Syria. They were both in their 50's and were devoted to each other. She was a Muslim, fair and blond with a soft deep voice. She passsed away a few years ago in Holland. I visited him in Houston and he and Lani visited us at our home for a couple of days in early June one year. They enjoyed the mild weather and we sent Lani home with a bag of apricots from one of our trees. Apricots are a native fruit in Syria and it made her happy. Bruce would fill my inbox with political cartoons. He was always joking, just like Dave and their  father. I will miss him. Gary Boam.
